Farewell IS101 :(

IS101, Fall 2025 has been a challenging but rewarding course. The workload definitely required a lot of consistency, and while I did fall behind, life happens and I was able to push myself to catch up by the end. Professor Wu is a very patient and supportive instructor who explains concepts clearly and genuinely wants students to succeed. I also learned a lot from my classmates through their presentations and shared experiences, which made the class more engaging and helped me feel more connected overall.

6.6.1 SmartArt

I have used SmartArt before in High School, we had a lot of projects in my business class. I would use PowerPoint for my presentations and use SmartArt to make them visually engaging.

Happy Holidays everyone!!

Phase 2 was a FLOP

I did not perform well at all in Phase 2. I had some things come up in my personal life that really impacted my school work in IS101, as well as my other classes. I wish that I had been better at managing the stress so that I would not be as behind as I am now.

5.5.4 Cell Borders

I have actually used this skill at work. We have to make custom reports for customers in Excel, and I use the cell border feature all the time. I already knew how to use this skill to the best of my ability and I didn't really learn anything new.

I use Excel every day at work, and I think that I am more equipped to try and actually resolve any errors that may appear instead of going to support immediately.

Unfortunately, I did not have a strong Phase 3 either. I am still catching up as we speak, but I am confident that I will get it all done!

Phase 1 of IS101

I think that before 9/27/2025 I was doing great. I was staying on top of all my work and was submitting assignments early or on time. However, in the next phases, I started slacking off, school kinda went on the back burner as I was dealing with a lot in my personal life. I wish that I had made more of an effort to continue the stride I had in phase 1.

4.9.4 Word Theme & Style Facts

I have used this skill outside of IS101 when making a resume. I like that you can quickly change the look of the resume without having to do it manually. I have learned to perform that skill properly now that I have taken IS101, as before I would just click mindlessly and hope it looked good. Now I know what each style is and how to apply it properly

I prepared for the MO-110 Word certification exam by completing all the Lab Sims and scoring 100% as well as completing the practice exams required.

I also want to remind everyone that it is very important to take care of yourself, but in doing so do not let your work or homework pay the price!

Nax's Intro Post

Hey friends!!

My name is Naxaly and I am a first-generation student. I have a bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Pre-Law. I am currently enrolled in the Paralegal program here at CSN. In my free time, I enjoy playing video games and playing tennis.

My first impression of IS101 was that this class is very intensive, especially after seeing all the labs and assignments from CompTIA. I was very overwhelmed and intimidated, but now that I am actually doing the work, I feel much more prepared. I have even gotten ahead on some assignments.

The skill that I chose in D2 Part 2 was Gmail and Google Calendar. I use Google Calendar to stay organized and on top of my daily activities. It helps me plan everything from work tasks and errands to workout classes, big events, and birthdays. I also rely on Gmail as my main personal email, where all my important emails are sent, making it easy to keep track of messages, appointments, and updates.
